FastLaw Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FastLaw, including any content, functionality, and services offered through www.fastlaw.ai (the "Site") and the FastLaw software-as-a-service platform (collectively, the "Service"). By registering for, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and Account Registration

1.1 Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Service. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

1.2 Account Registration. To access the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address, a user name, and a password. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activities conducted under your account.

1.3 Admin and User Roles. FastLaw supports two user roles:

1.4 Security. You agree to notify FastLaw immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. FastLaw will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

2. Service Description and Use

2.1 AI-Powered Legal Assistance. FastLaw provides an AI-driven chat interface designed to assist legal professionals with research, strategy, and document analysis.

2.2 File Uploads. You may upload PDF, DOCX, or TXT files for text extraction and analysis. FastLaw stores only the extracted text and displays original file names in chat history; uploaded documents are not retained.

2.4 Usage Limits & Concurrent Access. FastLaw is designed to handle multiple simultaneous sessions. FastLaw reserves the right to impose fair-use limits to prevent system abuse or degradation.

3. User Content and Data Privacy

3.1 User Content. You retain all ownership rights in the content you upload or submit. By using the Service, you grant FastLaw a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, process, and display your content solely to provide and improve the Service.

3.2 Extracted Text. Extractions of your uploaded files are stored in FastLaw’s PostgreSQL database. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support.

3.3 Chat History. Chat transcripts (including prompts, messages, and file references) are stored and available for review via the Chat History page. You may delete individual chats or clear your entire history at any time.

3.4 Privacy Policy. Use of FastLaw is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information. You agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy by using the Service.

4. Payments and Fees

4.1 Subscription Plans. FastLaw may offer free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans require periodic subscription fees as described on the Site. You are responsible for all fees and taxes incurred under your account.

4.2 Refunds. Unless otherwise stated, all fees are non-refundable. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact support.

6.1 FastLaw IP. All software, technology, and content provided by FastLaw (excluding your User Content) are proprietary and owned by FastLaw or its licensors.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

7.1 No Legal Advice. FastLaw is a research and drafting aid only. Nothing on or obtained through the Service constitutes legal advice, and no attorney‑client relationship is created.

7.2 Disclaimer of Warranties. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. FASTLAW DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

7.3 Limitation of Liability. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FASTLAW WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. FASTLAW’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE FEES PAID BY YOU IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

8. Termination

8.1 Termination by You. You may close your account at any time via your account settings or by contacting support.

8.2 Termination by FastLaw. FastLaw may suspend or terminate your access for any violation of these Terms or for any reason, with or without notice.

8.3 Effect of Termination. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases, and FastLaw may delete or disable your account and data in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
